These terms cover your use of the Soil and Hive website. They're written in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, we're glad to explain it.
Effective date: October 16, 2026Welcome, and thank you for visiting Soil and Hive. Please read these Terms of Service carefully. They explain what you can expect from this website and what we ask of you in return.
By visiting or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. That's the whole deal — nothing hidden.
This website is operated by Soil and Hive, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company based in the Tualatin Valley, with an office in Beaverton, Oregon. We provide honeybee rescue, live removal, colony rehoming, and swarm-prevention services across the Portland Metro area and the surrounding valleys, and we sell raw honey and other hive goods.
Throughout these terms, "Soil and Hive," "we," "us," and "our" mean Soil and Hive, LLC. "You" means anyone using this website.
This website is here to tell you about what we do and to help you reach us. It is not a scheduling or booking system.
Honeybees are wild, living animals. Their behavior can't be guaranteed by anyone, and we don't try to.
The information on this site — about bees, scout behavior, honey, hive care, and the like — is general information shared in good faith. It is not professional, structural, medical, veterinary, or pest-control advice for your specific situation. For that, please talk to us directly or to the appropriate licensed professional.
All product purchases are processed through our Shopify online store. Your order, payment, shipping, returns, and refunds are governed by the policies presented to you at checkout on the Shopify store — please review those at the time of purchase.
This website is not an emergency service and is not monitored around the clock.
If someone is having an allergic reaction or a medical emergency related to bee stings, call 911 right away.
Please don't try to remove, seal in, spray, or disturb a colony or swarm yourself. Doing so can be dangerous for you and harmful to the bees. Contact a qualified professional — that's what we're here for.
All content on this website — including text, photographs, illustrations, the bee logo, and the Soil and Hive name — belongs to Soil and Hive, LLC, or is used with permission, and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any of it without our written permission.
When you send us information or photos through the rescue-request form, you agree that the details are accurate to the best of your knowledge and that the photos are yours to share.
By submitting photos with a rescue request, you give Soil and Hive permission to use those photos to assess your situation and plan the job. We do not claim any broader rights to your photos here.
Reviews and testimonials shown on this site come from real customers. Where noted, they may be lightly edited for length or clarity, never to change their meaning. Every situation is different, and individual results and experiences vary.
This site links to and relies on services run by others — including Shopify (our store and checkout), Google (reviews and maps), Instagram, and Facebook. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
These messaging terms apply if you opt in to receive text messages from Soil and Hive, LLC — online or on an in-person sign-up card at a market, event, or point of sale.
This website is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soil and Hive, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of — or inability to use — this website, and our total liability arising from your use of the website is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
This section is about the website only. Anything relating to the actual rescue, removal, or prevention work we perform on a property is covered by the separate service agreement for that job, not by these website terms.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Soil and Hive, LLC and its owner from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from your misuse of this website or your violation of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to this website will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Washington County, Oregon.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website after an update means you accept the revised terms, so it's worth checking back now and then.
